Rojan Bhattarai, Ph.Dhttps://bios.inl.gov/Lists/Researcher/DisplayOverrideForm.aspx?ID=842Rojan Bhattarai, Ph.DDr. Rojan Bhattarai is a power and energy systems research engineer at Idaho National Laboratory, specializing in the modelling and simulation of distributed energy resources (DERs) and power grid, integration of renewable energy resources integration to the power grid and analyzing their impact on the grid. Before joining INL, he worked as a postdoctoral appointee at the Argonne National Laboratory where his research focused on development of transmission and distribution systems (T&D) co-simulation, planning and operations coordination and reliability impact of DERs on the bulk electric system (BES). While at Argonne, Rojan also carried out a CRADA based research with PJM interconnection helping PJM identify the impact of integration of DERs with latest interconnection standards on their system. Rojan earned his doctorate in electrical engineering from University of North Carolina ta Charlotte ad holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Pulchowk Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Rojan has co-authored more than 25 peer reviewed journal and conference paper. Rojan is also an active member of North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC’s) Systems Planning Impacts of Distributed Energy Resources Working Group (SPIDERWG) supporting the studies that help identify the impact of DERs on North American grid.

Ph.D , Electrical Engineering, University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

BE, Electrical Engineering, Tribhuvan University.

North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC’s) Systems Planning Impacts of Distributed Energy Resources Working Group (SPIDERWG) - active member

N.
