Konor Frick

Integrated Energy Systems Researcher

Research Areas:

Biography:

Dr. Konor Frick is an integrated energy systems researcher at Idaho National Laboratory. His work involves the creation and coupling of different process models (thermal energy storage, reverse osmosis, high temperature steam electrolysis, nuclear power plants) in high fidelity Modelica/Fortran models. These are then configured into different potential deployment strategies, and techno-economic analysis of different geographical locations is performed using a statistics based dispatcher (RAVEN). He is also involved in Thermal Energy Distribution Systems (TEDS), a first-of-its-kind experimental unit at INL intended to showcase the mass movement of thermal energy in interconnected hybrid systems in day-ahead market and microgrid networks. He earned his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate in nuclear engineering at North Carolina State University.
