Biography:

Craig Primer joined Idaho National Laboratory in 2018 as the Plant Modernization Pathway Lead for the Light Water Reactor Sustainability Program. Craig's experience in the nuclear industry includes over 30 years of nuclear power operations and engineering experience in this role. Currently, Craig leads research teams in the areas of digital and information modernization.  These research efforts develop solutions needed to overcome the technical challenges faced by the nuclear industry today. 

Previously, Craig worked in the nuclear industry, where his roles included managing full-stack software development and commercialization of computerized work instructions, alarm presentation systems, and Human Machine Interface display products.  Other responsibilities included managing the commissioning of instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems at the ​Sanmen China AP1000 site and managing the AP1000 startup engineering group. Before his product development and deployment activities, he spent nearly 20 years at the Comanche Peak nuclear power station, where he obtained a Senior Reactor Operator's license and had the responsibilities associated with managing the day to day plant operation along with outage assignments that included managing refueling and Balance of Plant activities.​

​B.S. Engineering Technology – Thomas Edison State University

Currently Enrolled in a Ph.D. program at Boise State University.  This Ph.D. is in the Department of Computer Science's Computing program, with an emphasis in data science.​
