Biography:

Paul Henslee is a manager in the Advanced Nuclear Facility R&D Division where he is providing support to the INL versatile fast reactor (VTR) program and currently a co-lead for the VTR primary, secondary and balance of plant preliminary design and layout. He has extensive experience in the successful management of major reactor and non-reactor engineering programs most recently having lead the ATR Life Extension Program 2006-2015. In 1984, he joined Argonne National Laboratory-West as part of the fuels and Materials organization where he supported the EBR-II in a number of roles. During his 21 years at ANL-W he developed the following expertise; EBR-II design (mechanical), sodium systems/facility design, sodium handling and processing, nuclear facilities operation and management; pyroprocessing, pyroprocessing facilities, and metal-fuel fabrication. He earned BS, and MS degrees in mechanical engineering and materials science respectively from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is the author/coauthor of a number publications related to EBR-II fuel, nuclear materials management, fuel performance and has been awarded two U.S. patents including one for an innovative method to safely deactivate radioactive sodium within reactor systems. Mr. Henslee is a long-time member of the America Society of Mechanical Engineers. Outside of work he enjoys participating in skiing, hiking, cycling, and backpacking.
