Brian Storms

Biography:
Brian has been working at the Materials and Fuels Complex since 2010. Brian is currently a scientist in the radiochemistry/counting group and is qualified on the gamma systems, liquid scintilation systems, gas flow proportional counters, and the alpha spec system. Brian is qualified to perform separations featuring the EICHROM resins for the actinides and strontium. Brian started at the Idaho Chemical Processing Plant in 1989 in the shift lab as a process support chemical analyst. In 1992, he joined the Radiochemistry section and served in several positions, including scientist, technical lead, and supervisor. Brian has a strong background in building calibration standards to solve customers’ sampling issues, as well as designing jigs for repeatability of positioning on all gamma systems.
