Biography:
​Robert Sant is a nuclear engineer in the Risk Assessment and Management Services Department at the Idaho National Laboratory. In this capacity, he supports the Nuclear Material Events Database (NMED) project for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This involves monitoring, investigating, and analyzing a broad range of events involving nuclear material, including medical events, personnel overexposures, lost/stolen sources, releases of radioactive materials, and other incidents. Robert is the technical lead for NMED software and website development. He has served as a Team Scientist for the Radiological Assistance Program, which responds to offsite radiological events. He has extensive experience in experimental and numerical analysis of reactor physics, criticality safety, and radiological protection.
Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, biking, racquetball, and tennis.
