Biography:
​Jack Law is Manager of the Aqueous Separations and Radiochemistry Department, and a Nuclear Science and Technology Directorate Fellow at Idaho National Laboratory. In this role, Jack leads a team of radiochemists and engineers performing a wide variety of separations research to support the nuclear fuel cycle, Critical Materials Institute and National & Homeland Security projects. Jack earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University (1984). He has Thirty-three years of experience in flowsheet development and testing of processes for the separation of actinides, lanthanides and fission products from radioactive waste and used nuclear fuel, solvent extraction equipment development and testing, and facility design support. Jack has authored over 50 peer reviewed publications, and has ten U.S. patents and three Russian patents. He has been awarded the Glenn T. Seaborg Actinide Separations Award (2018), the Federal Laboratory Consortium Far West Region Outstanding Technology Development Award (2017), the AICHE Nuclear Engineering Division Robert E. Wilson Award in (2016), the INL Laboratory Director’s Award for Lifetime Achievement (2015) and the Department of Energy Secretary’s Achievement Award (2013). Jack is an active member in the American Nuclear Society and was recognized as a Fellow of the ANS in 2018. Jack is also an active member the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
