Hikaru Hiruta

Biography:
​Hikaru Hiruta, Ph.D., is a staff scientist in the Reactor Physics Analysis and Design Department at Idaho National Laboratory. In this capacity, his focus is the analysis and methods development for the reactor core design of experimental and civilian nuclear power reactors.
Hikaru joined INL in 2005 and has extensive experience in computational methods development for reactor physics analysis. He holds a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from North Carolina State University, a M.S. in nuclear engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. in chemical engineering from Kogakuin University in Japan. Outside of work he enjoys skiing, hiking, camping and other outdoor sports.
