Diego Mandelli
Research Areas:
Biography:
Diego's research interests revolve around the implementation of innovative system modelling and data analysis techniques applied to safety analysis. He has developed artificial intelligence and data mining based schemes capable of modelling complex dynamic stochastic systems and finding interdependencies among uncertainties and timing/sequencing of events with system dynamics. The classes of methodologies and models he has explored include: simulation based Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) also known as Dynamic PRA, digital control systems, passive components, data clustering and adaptive sampling algorithms. Furthermore, he has applied these algorithms to complex nuclear system simulators such as light water and liquid metal cooled reactors.
