Biography:

Giovanni Pastore, Ph.D., is a research and development scientist at Idaho National Laboratory, where he leads the developers team for the nuclear fuel analysis code BISON.  Dr. Pastore earned his master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering (2008) and Ph.D. cum laude (2012) from the Politecnico di Milano (Italy).  Besides INL, he has worked at the European Commission (JRC-ITU Karlsruhe, Germany), the Halden Reactor Project (Norway) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).  His research focuses mainly on software development for engineering nuclear fuel performance analysis and on advanced modeling of fission gas behavior.
