Biography: Dena M. Tomchak is a systems specialist with Idaho National Laboratory’s Systems Engineering Department. Her responsibilities include determining customer requirements and expectations and identifying appropriate systems engineering concepts and techniques to meet those needs. She serves as a consultant identifying issues, opportunities and innovative approaches to improve organization processes. She holds a Certificate of Applied Science from Eastern Idaho Technical College and received Certified IRB Professional certification in 2014. In her years with INL, she has been recognized for her contributions 18 times, including the Exceptional Contributions Program Award five times and the Employee Special Recognition Award three times. Her administration of INL’s Human Subjects program has included guidance to principal investigators for preparation of review packages, ensuring annual reviews are completed, ensuring compliance with all OHRP and DOE requirements, and monthly communication with other National Laboratory representatives and DOE-HQ Human Subjects managers.
