Biography:

Ryan Bills is senior commercialization manager of Idaho National Laboratory’s Technology Deployment Team supporting the Energy & Environment Science and Technology Directorate. He manages the EES&T intellectual property portfolio, which includes technologies ranging from radiation decontamination and water treatment processes to battery materials and renewable energy technologies. He is responsible for working with inventors to determine commercial viability of new EES&T discoveries and for licensing the patents and copyrights that result. He also manages relationships with existing licensing partners and supports EES&T staff in developing proposals to use licensing royalty funds for technology maturation. Before joining INL, he spent more than 12 years in the semiconductor industry in various capacities, including process engineering, supplier quality, supply chain contracting, and capital equipment procurement. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from University of Idaho and an MBA from Idaho State University.
