Biography:

Dr. Efe Gokce Kurt is a postdoctoral civil engineer, with an emphasis on structural engineering. His most recent project was at Purdue University, where he investigated the effects of out-of-plane loading on the in-plane behavior of steel-plate composite SC walls used in AP1000. Other areas of experience include: designing and cyclic testing two-1:3 scale SC wall specimens with overstrength connection; in-plane behavior of steel-plate composite SC wall piers with different aspect ratios; in-plane behavior of SC wall piers with different thickness and connector element configuration; FEM simulation for INDOT temporary concrete anchored barriers; and investigation of strengthening techniques for deficient reinforced concrete (RC) buildings.
