Biography:

James T. Johnson is a senior staff electrical engineer in Idaho National Laboratory’s Radiation Instrumentation group. His research interests include application of advanced hardware and software engineering design principles to new inspection system instrumentation for use in characterization of materials related to nonproliferation experiments, nuclear energy materials, and fuels characterization. He has most recently been involved with designing the fuel motion monitoring system at the Transient Reactor Test Facility. His previous experience includes remote sensing, data acquisition and control, radiation measurements and detection, mechanical scanning systems as well as eddy current and ultrasonic techniques for non-destructive evaluation. Mr. Johnson has either authored or co-authored over 30 papers for conference proceedings and peer reviewed journals and has been granted four U.S. patents. He holds a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering from Utah State University.
