Christopher Orme

Researcher

Research Areas:
Net Zero Waste in Manufacturing; Chemical Separations

Biography:

Christopher J. Orme is a researcher at INL who has 26 years experience at INL in the development and commercialization of polymeric materials for both industrial and governmental applications. He earned an associate’s degree in chemical technology from Eastern Idaho Technical College. His work experience is in the areas of membrane based gas separations, liquid pervaporation and novel polymeric membrane formation. His research emphasis has varied from the most fundamental understanding of molecular interactions to developing pilot plant scale facilities. His current research is focused upon understanding of inter- and intra-molecular interactions that lead to interesting structure property relationships in a wide variety of polymer systems. He has authored or co-authored more than 65 peer-reviewed publications, and holds 11 United States patents, all of which are related to polymer membrane separations.
