Biography:

Sandy facilitates the safe conduct of research in her role as a Laboratory Manager. Drawing upon her research background, she offers the scientific community experience and leadership in hazard analysis for research work control. As a Laboratory Manager, Sandy has been active in process improvements to remove operational barriers that affect R&D outcomes, and in developing new tools for operational excellence. Prior to becoming a Laboratory Manager, Sandy was involved in multidisciplinary energy and national security R&D. Sandy has a Master’s of Science (M.S.) degree in Microbiology and more than 25 years’ experience in the research laboratories at INL. She has published more than 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and technical reports. Sandy believes that by working together we can positively influence the safety culture and enable world-class research at INL.
