Biography:

​A veteran naval officer, Dr. Yingling investigates how thermochemical properties of molten salts can be understood through the chemical relationships with their phase equilibria. His research interest exists at the interface between experimental and computational inquiry, connecting observed thermal and physical phenomena to models which allow a more in-depth understanding of high-order molten salts. His unique skillset is currently applied to the fuel salt synthesis line of the molten chloride reactor experiment (MCRE), supports the chemical analysis of electrorefiner operations, and the development of high-temperature phase-based fractional separations processes.
